In-Person tickets are available to CIM Sudbury Branch Members for $10. Dynamic Earth is limited to 65 guests so get your tickets early. (Proof of vaccination will be required).

 

Members will be emailed a members-only link that will enable them to purchase an in-person ticket or register for the on-line event for free.

 

Non-members may purchase online tickets for $5.

Côté Gold Project: Strengthening Stakeholder Relationships and Community Development through Social Impact Monitoring

Description:

Join us for a discussion on Côté Gold’s approach to monitoring Project-related social impacts. We will talk about the collaborative process we undertook to design and implement a shared management approach to monitoring our impacts on the social conditions in Gogama and two of our Indigenous partner communities – Mattagami First Nation and Flying Post First Nation.

 

Bio:

Krista Maydew is IAMGOLD’s Director of Community Relations. She has over 20 years of experience in the areas of community and Indigenous engagement, socio-economic studies and impact assessment. She understands the impacts of development on the human environment through all stages of major projects and has worked within the context of various impact assessment processes within Canada and abroad. Krista has been a part of the team advancing the Côté Gold Project since 2014.

 

Mike Garbutt is currently the Deputy General Manager for Côté Gold, joining IAMGOLD in May 2021. He has 25 years of diverse experience in Mine Operations, Engineering and Projects both as part of operating teams and in consulting roles. At the Côté Gold Project, one of his mandates is to successfully integrate net-positive initiatives into the current project and future mine operation, in conjunction with all our partners and stakeholders.
