Come and visit the experts and see firsthand what mining is all about, from open pit to
underground operations.

Tour Objective:
Provide the opportunity for students to observe mine site operations, strengthen their practical
knowledge and provide an opportunity to expand their mining industry networks.


Typical mine tour agenda at each site:

  • Site safety induction
  • Site introduction and high-level project overview by key site personnel followed by:
    • Operational synopsis of the site (operations, innovations, planning)
    • Visit underground/open pit mining operations
    • Visit tailings facilities, core shack, maintenance shop

The use & supply of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) – will be coordinated between CIM Toronto
Branch and hosting mine sites.

 

This event is made possible with significant financial support from the CIM Toronto Branch and its sponsors. The nominal fee we are charging will help defer the costs for transportation, meals, PPE (personal protection equipment), and accommodations. Due to practical limitations for hosting visitors at each operating mine, space is extremely limited and is based on a first come first serve basis. Each participant must sign a liability waiver, code of conduct, and media release form. No refunds for cancellations will be issued.
